Check out this blog for digis girls

Just a quicky to let you know about a fabulous blog that I've just stumbled across. This lady designs her own digis and the best bit is they are all free (I think she'd be minted if she started charging for them).

Anyway pop along to her blog and check it out http://gtc-craftycorner.blogspot.com/

Scruffles the Dog

Isn't Scruffles adorable! Anyhow, Scruffles has been designed by the very talented Lexi of
http://lexiscreations.blogspot.com/ and she has a DT comp on at the moment.
The brief that Lexi has set is to use Scruffles, 2 papers and an embellishment and, I quote "Other than that, eat your heart out lol" so this is what appeared at the end of playtime.

I think I will also enter it into Incy Wincy ( http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.com/ ) as the challenge this week (set by the lovely Liz of http://laceribbonsbuttonsandbows.blogspot.com/ ) is to use your favourite embellishment, and as I love my gems, ribbon and stamped sentiments (one of my rediscovered fav things) and this has all of them on, I think it's perfect for it.

Take care all

Wendys Doodles

Afternoon all. I've been having so much fun today. Via my good blogging and forum buddy Liz, I found this very talented ladys blog http://digital-doodling.blogspot.com/ .
Anyway both of these gorgeous digis are by Wendy from bonny Scotland (please don't beat me up if you Scots have heard that saying too many times). The top one is Tilly on a cupcake which I have coloured with my copics for her challenge that she has going at the moment and the bottom card has been coloured in Paint on the computer with just one of my blue copics to highlight the white fluffyness of her coat. I think I'll be using this image for quite a few of my Christmas cards as she is just soooooo lovely.
By the way, Wendy is looking for one more DT member at the moment so click on the link to get more details.

Halloween Trick or Treat bags

Bearing in mind I'm not inclined to all this Halloween malarky, I thought I'd make a bit of an effort this year and made some bags from some old C5 envelopes and then decorated a top to seal them very simply with a coloured digi stamp from Stitchy (Digital Ink Co) which I coloured in Paint on the computer and a text greeting of "Trick or Treat" which I did on PagePlus with the font "It lives in the Swamp" (I think so anyway so don't quote me on it).

I wanted to get some other things done as well but I haven't finished them yet.

Hope you like them and I'd love to know what you think of them so please leave me a comment.

Cheers

Take care

Sorry it's late, but here it is

Good morning everyone, sorry I'm a day late but I've hardly been at home this weekend. I think I've only really been here to sleep......
Anyway here's this weeks card for the challenge at The Crafty Pad. This is my last one as Guest DT and I'd like to say a big huge thanks to Debbie for having me this month and I have thoroughly enjoyed myself but I am looking forward to taking part in the challenges again along with you guys.
Thank you all for your support over this last month and I'll look forward to seeing your creations this week.

Can I get a Whoop Whoop?!

Morning everyone.....it's my birthday!!!!!!!! I'd just like to say a big huge thanks to everyone of my buddies that has sent me a card, I would list those that I've got but due to the lovely Royal Mail there is a good chance that I don't have them all yet. I know that my hubbys nan will have sent me one but there is no sign of that yet and they lost a package the other week of a stamp from E-bay that was coming to me. Funny how bills always manage to get through though!!!
Anyway, I'm going to get myself a cup of tea as I couldn't be bothered to go back to bed as I normally do when hubby leaves for work and I haven't had one yet (shock!! horror!!!)
Oh and a big thank you to those of you that have sent me messages on my comments to say Happy Birthday. You guys just make me SMILE.
Take care all and have a fabby day - I'm off to eat chocolate....YUMMY!!!

Nieces birthday card

This is the card I made yesterday for our niece with the stamp that the lovely Cheryl sent me for my birthday, which is tomorrow so I'll be feeling sorry for myself - another year older and all that jazz, hehehe.
It's taken a while to put on here as I was doing my final guest DT card for The Crafty Pad and I hate getting my camera out for just one card, so I wanted to get that completed and get the piccies of that at the same time. I've got some bits to play with for another good buddy but that is TOP SECRET for now.
Okay, I'm going to check a few blogs out and then get dinner done as hubby is home already coz of the rain, and then I have the evening to play again.
Take care peeps

Guest DT week 3

Hi all. I've been trying to get the piccies uploaded for ages, but for some reason, blogger doesn't like the inside pic of my card and keeps telling me about some kind of internal error but I've not done anything different to what I normally do so I'm at a dead end and you'll just have to wonder at how I've decorated the inside for now.

Anyway, this weeks challenge over at The Crafty Pad is a sketch of a gatefold card.

I've used the Umbrella stand stamp and the single leaf stamp from the swirl and leaf accessory pack. The sentiment is from the cover stamps from either the Creativity mag or her scrapbooking cousin - I can't rightly remember as I've had them ages now.

If I figure out what I've done to the inside pic of my card , I'll add it later but for now take care and enjoy what is left of your Sunday.

Sam x
Come on here this morning and thought I'd try my piccy of the inside of the card again.....and guess what.....yep it worked first time. I haven't got the foggiest why it wouldn't load yesterday, but hey, it's here now.
Take care - I'm off for a quick nosey around.

Incy Wincy "Wildlife" challenge

http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.com/

I've just finished this little ATC for the challenge at Incy Wincy, it was a toss up between this and a rough looking old dog, but I do love my piggies. I've got some piggy embellishments but do you think I can find them - not a chance!!!
I've also been playing with Serif DrawPlus which is why this took me longer to get done as I was playing and forgot about getting this done. Anyway it's done even though I'm not happy with it coz it's not what I wanted to do. Nevermind eh?!

This little picture below is a watercolour postcard from a pack that I bought. I've stamped it with some of the cover stamps from one of the mags earlier in the year and then coloured it with my watercolour pencils - I know...I did something stamped without my copics!!!!!
Anyway that's in the post now, as I needed a postcard to enter a competition so I had to decorate it didn't I - couldn't leave it plain!!!!!

Okay I'm off for today, be sure to check back tomorrow to see my creation for this weeks Guest DT spot at The Crafty Pad .
Take care all

Digital Ink Co challenge

Morning all, just got the piccy taken and edited for the challenge at The Digital Ink Co challenge blog http://digital-inkcochallenge.blogspot.com/ . This week it's a sketch. I've cut down an A4 piece of card to form a 6 inch square card blank. I've then matted and layered a textured piece of silver card from my stash on top of the blank. Next I used a picture that I took yesterday of a neighbours holly tree full of berries as a background. Dug out yet more card stock stash and cut out a small rectangle of the Christmas tree decorated card stock and distressed the edges with a nail file. Next I cut out and coloured the Snowman digi stamp from Jules Junk that I had won from one of the previous Digi Ink challenges. His buttons, hat and scarf have all been decoupaged and then I added some glitter in certain places. Lastly I added a little sentiment from my Christmas stash from last years magazine freebies - oh and I added some glitter onto the wording as well.
I'm hoping to get another thingy made for the challenge at Incy Wincy but as I've got work tonight I'm not sure if I'll get back on here today - it depends on whether I get sidetracked with the telly or not.
Anyway I hope you all have a good weekend and look out for my Guest DT 3rd week creation.
Take care

Uncle Tonys Card

Just a quick one as I've got to get our dinner ready in a mo. Just finished making this card for my Mother in law for her brother in law - are you following me so far...

Anyway, he works for the AA so I spent this morning trawling the web for images and found these two beauties on Flickr. The main photographic image is by a bloke called Robert Silver and the AA badge that I've replicated and used as a backing is from someone calling themselves Oxfordshire churches. I'm going to let them both know about this and what I've used it for and direct them here so they can see what I've done.

Anyway I hope you like it and I'll be back tomorrow most probably.

Take care

It's now also on my Flickr account http://www.flickr.com/people/yammasmakes/

Recipe challenge at The Crafty Pad

Morning all the challenge this week at The Crafty Pad is a recipe of;-

1 Ribbon
2 Papers
3 Brads and a swirl

Both of my papers are from the Laura Ashley Blossom 6x6 glitter paper pack I think the brads were as well but as I have all my brads loose now in a drawer of a tiny chest of drawers I can't be sure any more and the ribbon was some that I found in my daughters room - I think it came off a teddy that she's wrecked (I hope so anyway - oooopps). Anyway on to the image - I've used Faith Looks Sure and the swirl from the new Florish and Leaves accessory pack of stamps - all available from The Crafty Pad.
I do hope that you'll join us this week and I look forward to seeing more of your fab creations.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday.
Take care

Ruby wedding now in a box

I found my printable acetate but had to search around for the masking tape as it wouldn't print without being attached to a piece of paper. If you look hard you can just about see the pattern on the acetate (the piccy might even come up big if you click on it - I don't know for sure as I see them up close and personal so don't need to). I also printed out a sheet of decorated paper for my MIL to write whatever she wants on it as I realised there wasn't anywhere for her to do so.
Anyway all finished now - I can think about going to work this evening.
Have a lovely weekend all and don't forget about The challenge at The Crafty Pad this Sunday. I'll be uploading another card as Guest DT - please join in with us, I'd love to see what you come up with.

Ruby wedding book card

I made this yesterday for my Mother-in-law for her sister Ruby wedding anniversary. I've yet to figure out how she's going to post it as it's too big to make a box from A4 card, I've got plenty of card from where I used to work in a print and packaging firm (my boss let me have it - I didn't just swipe it hehehehehe) but it won't be a pretty display box so I'm a little upset at that unless I can find some bits long buried that I've forgotten about. Saying that I'm sure my little brother bought me some printable acetate for my birthday last year, hmmmmm I wonder. If I find that then I'll be making two boxes - a display box and a sending box.

Anyway I hope you like it and big THANK YOU to my trimcraft buddy Kevin who sent me this template as I don't have a Bookatrix board yet - boo hoo...the shame. I also realised I need a heck of a lot more border peel offs. Crumbs my list of wants and needs never seems to get any shorter, just longer by the hour......

Take care all

Sam x

PS I might start another blog for my odds and ends and just keep this one for my challenge entries - what do you think?

Cheers Sam x

SophistiCat Challenge card

This is my entry to the challenge at SophistiCats and I've cheated a little. The card and all the embellishments were from part of a kit that my mum gave me a couple of years ago. I tell you, those little fairies are real awkward to cut out even with a craft knife but I think she looks okay - well my daughter Whitney gave it the thumbs up this morning anyway.
If you click on the link just below the piccys it'll take you to their blog and you can get all the details there but what I can tell you is that it's based on a sketch by Cheryl and it's to have bling on it. That's one reason why I used this card and toppers because they are covered in glitter and if you look at the little close up pic of the three flowers you will see that I've used some brads that have got gems in the centre and I've also stickled the plain flower brad as well.
Take care

Challenge 17 at Digital two for Tuesday

Finally - I finished it! This is for challenge 17 at Digital two for Tuesday
and I think it would have been finished ages ago but my computer was scanning while I was trying to play with these images in MCS. It's not exactly as I wanted it but I was getting so annoyed with it by then, I thought to myself "That'll do girl or you're gonna end up throwing the computer through the window".
Unfortunately, the front piccy doesn't show of the straight line peel offs that I've used around the Ethyl logo badge or the glittery sakura pen that I've used on the sentiment at the bottom very well.
Hope to get another card for another challenge done later but for now, I'm off to support my mate Cheryl on her Guest DT at DTFT.
Ta ra for now peeps

Whoop whoop I've done it - YAYYYYY!!!!

I have just loaded my first bits on my shop at FOLKSY. It costs 20pence to list each item and anyone that buys from me has free P & P as I have absolutely no idea on how much it would cost to send the various bits out. Oh well it's an experience isn't it - and you don't know unless you try.
Anyway I just thought I'd let all my blogging buddies know that I've finally pulled my finger out and got it sorted.

What have I done heheheehehe!!!

You may notice that I have added a new gizmo to my sidebar......I've taken the plunge and set up my own little shop on Folksy. I haven't put anything on there yet. I'll sort a few bits out for that tomorrow as I still haven't done any housework yet so I've got to at least put the hoover around quickly heheheehe. It will cost me a little but if stuff does sell it's better than it sitting in my bedroom gathering dust now isn't it.
Oh well something else to add to my signature on the forums that I'm on.
Take care peeps hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more makes as there are a couple of challenges that I want to do tonight.

Guest DT for The Crafty Pad

Afternoon all. I do apologise for being late at posting this my first guest DT at The Crafty Pad (http://thecraftypad.blogspot.com)
but I am a little disorganised this week - my hubby would say that there's no change there then hehehehee.
I've used Debbies new stamps (which are available for purchase right now) of the Umbrella Stand and the Leaves and Swirls accessory pack. The close up picture is of where I have just coloured in the centre of the leaves after stamping them directly onto the card with a Sakura Stardust DEEP set of pens.
I'm looking forward to seeing what creations you all come up with so I'd love you to join in for the rest of this month, and once you've got a taste for it to continue joining me as a fellow entrant after I finish my little stint.
Okay I'm sorry it's short and sweet for now but unfortunately I've got to go to work shortly so if there is anything else I think of I will add it tomorrow during the day.
Hope you've all had a lovely weekend - take care
Sam x

Oh well that's all for today but keep your eye's peeled on Sunday for my first Guest DT card for the Crafty Pad with some fab new stamps that Debbie has designed.
