Last one of the Year

I have two cards for you today and they were very quick ones to make. Both digi stamps are from Stitchy The first is of course Big Ben which I dedicate to all of you in blogland and cyber space to wish each and everyone of you a very happy New Year.

The second one is on a sadder note.
My father-in-law lost his mum just the other day, so I made this simple card.

I do have another card in the pipeline so watch out for the first card of the year tomorrow.
Have a very good hogmanay (oops I think Liz might tell me off I think I've spelt it wrong) - put it this way...however you chose to see in the New Year..where ever you are...have a good one!
Love n hugz

New Beginnings

Morning all and welcome to our next, although slightly shorter than normal challenge. I had the fabulous Jules creations to work with this time.
The brief this time was  to
"Create a card or LO using the following recipe: gold, silver/gray, black// something glittery//embellishment: ribbon and incorporate some kind of distressing"

I took Jules' Flamenco dancer and printed her out a couple of times. The spare printout I had, I used to cut out the layers of her dress on the glittery black card and given it some dimension with the help of some silicone. After I'd coloured the rest of her in with my copics I mounted her onto a circle of silver mirri board which I distressed with a black ink pad. The background that she is mounted onto is some gold tissue paper that I think I rescued from a Christmas present from 2008, which I scrunched up and then wiped a black ink pad over the top of it. I then reflattened it with the help of my heat gun and my bone folder and then stuck it to my card blank. I added a bit of black and gold sticky ribbon from my stash along with a silver bottle from some confetti and then wrote Happy New Year with my glue pen and sprinkled with gold glitter and drew around with a black pen when it was dry as it didn't show up enough.

Also from the stable of Jules is this little beauty which I believe is one of the stamps up for grabs as a prize.

Right this is a little late but here is what you could win

and by the way that's going to be one of my NEW Years Resolutions...be more organised, another is to be more active and the last one is to lose weight so they all go hand in hand really. If I'm more organised I can find time to do my crafting, the housework, walk the dogs (2 lots of exercise there) and then hopefully coz I won't be bored, I won't get the munchies and coz I'm doing some exercise, I'll hopefully lose weight. Of course I'll keep you all updated on how I'm doing in all three.
Don't forget to check out all the other fabby girls on the DT blogs. You'll find their links on the sidebar.

Okay then you lovely lot, remember there is only ONE week to enter the challenge this time around as we are going to be introducing some new faces around here and we need to get them settled in and up to speed. So no dilly dallying this time around - get those entries in for us all to drool over.
If I'm not back again before the end of the year - I wish each and every one of you lovely people out there a very
Happy New Year!

Wednesday 23 December 2009

I am still here...honest!

I'm just having a bit of a chill out for a few days....that and I've got to clear the dining room table for Friday lol. I'm trying to tidy the house up a bit as well but I keep getting distracted, 1 by Facebook and 2 by Stitchy bless her heart.
I will be making a post for the next challenge over at Digital Ink Co just after Christmas but all my stuff will be all over the place again by then anyway hahaha. I'm finding that I'm at least having to do a little bit of colouring if nothing else.
Anyway I'd just like to take this oppurtunity to wish everyone out there a very Merry Christmas and  a Happy New Year and look out for a new look to go with the new year too.
Love, hugs and laughter to all

Last minute Christmas cards and something for next year

Right first the last minute Christmas cards. My daughter yet again has cleared me out of Christmas cards for the second year running (you'd think I would have learned HA!!.....not a chance this is me we are talking about) so I nabbed this stamp from Stitch (bless her heart) coz I thought it'd be great as a quicky card or to finish off something more elaborate. Anyway I've teamed the Christmas Corner with her Christmas papers and the Christmas Thyme sentiment pack.

The last card is another easel card that I whipped up this morning with her brand spanking new collection Prisoner
I've used the stamp in it's entirity and a couple of the papers designs printed onto matt paper and one of them printed onto gloss photo paper. Well that's hubby sorted from me for St Valentines Day next year.

PS
Don't forget to check out the slide as you come on for all the other stamps I've used for Stitchy so far.

DT makes for this fortnights challenge

The brief was last minute makes - gift tags, bags, cards you get my drift. So I knocked these two up in a couple of hours. I've taken "Baby Santa and Deer" by Judy at M & M Designz and printed it out in two different sizes, then coloured with my copics.
You can get this image here

The large image I used for the gift tag, which is just a large circle of mirri board with a smaller inked circle of textured white cardstock. Then I've stuck the cut out image on the top so I have an over lap. I have glittered on the white bits of Baby Santas outfit but I don't think it really shows on the photo at all.

Now the gift bag. This has been made from a 6 x 6 Christmas paper stack that I got courtesy of Leah L'Orange at The Chronicles of Orange . If you ask me nicely I'll see if I can do you all a tutorial on how I made it....I need to remember how I did it first hahaahaha. Anyway this is a perfect size for a small jewellery gift.
I've put the small image on this bag and attached two short pieces of fancy ribbon on the front and the back of the bag with some coloured staples.

Now don't forget - you have TWO weeks to take part in this challenge. I'm really enjoying going around and seeing your wonderful creations so keep 'em coming...Please.

Take care all

And lastly but not least...

a little card with the "Peeking Elf" from Digital Delights by Louby Lou . He's so cheeky - don't you think.

Okay that's me blogged out for today. Hope you've had a good one or having a good one and take care out there.
Love and hugz

For my next card

we have a Digi Kitty image...well really two as I've used the Mr Snowman and the Mrs Snowman - known affectionately as The Snowcouple (I think hehehe)

Next we have...

a couple of cards with images by Judy at M & M Designz. No challenges here apart from me trying to get loads of christmas cards done so that I can send them tomorrow.
The images I've used are "Cecil Wrapped Up" and "Nativity Scene". All proceeds from the sale of the second stamp are going to http://www.troopssupport.com/
I do hope you like both of these cards

Sam x

First of a few tonight...

This one is for the challenge over at Stamping Dragon Designs . This is the first monthly challenge that she is now doing and if you pop over to her blog you can download the papers and the digi stamp all for free so that you can do this very first challenge which is a sketch.

Right well I'd better get on coz I've got a few more cards to show you all tonight and this isn't going to enter itself.
Back soon

Birthday card for Stitchy

Bless, we had a party for the old girl on SNR last Sunday and she set us the challenge of making a birthday card or an invitation which had to include 3 papers, an element of 3D, 3 embellishments and 3 things beginning with B. If you look carefully you will notice a theme going on and if you add all of these 3s up you get 12 which is when Stitchys birthday actually is.
Anyway onto the card - it is another easel card (can you tell I like doing these at the moment) and the image that I've used is "Celebration Charlie" from Digital Delights by Louby Lou. I've got my 3 papers which are from one of my bit folders, I've 3D'd elements of Charlie and one of the balloons which is one of the 3 Bs (B for balloon) and the embellishments are a Happy Birthday that has been rescued from a bithday cake at some point, a little bow on Charlie and the 3 flower gems (well 1 didn't look right). The ribbon on the base is just so that the card will stand up.

Have a lovely day and take care

MAWTT challenge

Sorry guys can't think of any fancy titles at the moment. had an issue with my washing machine today, still waiting to see if I've fixed it - which I won't know until the load that I put in it earlier finishes.
Anyway Moving Along With The Times had a sketch challenge this week, which I finally got around to finishing...in between fixing (fingers crossed) my washing machine. You also had to include a hidden message which is on the tag thats hiding behind the main image - which incidentally is one of Stitchys as is the sentiment on the tag.
I got really brave with this one and dug my sewing machine out and did a zig zag stitch all around the different papers that I've used. I've used papers that I won from Leah L'orange the other week and the poinsettias are a stamped image that a buddy sent me. I've also used some of the pearly do dahs that I won in Leahs candy.

Oh well I hope you like it oh and by the way - it's yet another easel card. I'm loving these at the moment.

Take care all

Santa Wants You....To Be Good Easel card

Yes it's the last one for today and this one is for the challenge over at Incy Wincy Designs where the brief is thankfully "Red & Green". I'm trying to make every card count now coz I am so far behind with my Christmas cards this year - might have something to do with this forum and blogging malarky that I've got myself into this year.
Anyway as I've already said this is another easel card and for this one yet again I've used papers, ribbons and peel offs all from my stash.
And the image....yes that's from Stitchy Stamps and he's called "Santa wants You".

Okay I'm off to enter into their challenge and support my buddies Cheryl and Liz as they are on the DT there, so do go and check out these 2 talented ladies blogs and love some love as I know they both really appreciate it.
That's all for tonight.
Take care all
Sam x

Another two Easel cards

Here I've used some "The Snowman" decoupage and papers for one card and for the other I've used a digi stamp called "The Nativity" from Lil Diva Stamps. Do pay Donna a visit as she does some lovely digi stamps as do all the girls from Digital-Ink Co.

The Snowman

The Nativity

Design Dollies Monochromatic Purple challenge

Right - new challenge blog for me this one, they have three a week and each one runs for a week and if you are really clever or fancy a real doozy of a challenge you can incorporate all three into one project. Where can you do all of this I hear you ask. You can do this at Design Dollies.
Okay well, here is my little offering for this "Purple" challenge.

I've used some papers that I got free in one of the magazines that I subscribe to and the image is from Stitchy Stamps - "Splash". I've added some raindrop shaped purple gems, some sticky ribbon from my stash, a couple of buttons and some gold peel offs. And you cant really tell from the picture but it is one of my first attempts at an easel card (I've made 4 today and I can see me doing a lot more as well).
Right well I'm off to enter this into the challenge before I forget it.
Have a lovely evening and take care.
