Nans 96th birthday card

Told you I'd be back again. This card is made entirely using freebies from the various mags on the market. I think if I put her age and "nan" on there it would just be too crowded so I've left it without.

Hope you like it peeps.

Two ATCs - Only one of them is for a challenge! Shock horror!!

Evening all. Made these a couple of days ago but I must be getting lazy as I'm spending far too much time yapping on Trimcraft and not enough time taking photos and uploading them. Any way the one with the trousers and the tag is for the challenge over at Lots to Do

The trousers are made using the same template sheet as I used a couple of weeks ago for the Charismacardz "little black dress" challenge but as it should be and the tag actually is a tag from a pair of jeans I bought quite some time ago which I've just cut down to size.

The other ATC is a manly themed one as I got my wires crossed and should have made a card instead, but hey ho I had some fun making it although colouring acetate does tend to leave lines I've noticed.

Right I'm off again for a bit. Be back later with a birthday card that I've made for my nan.

Oh Crumbs DM!

Sorry, only some of you will get the Dangermouse reference in my title but "oh crumbs" is my sentiments exactly. The reason why I'm saying this is because Jude (http://crafts-international.blogspot.com/) has just given me another award, which I'm really chuffed about but I have to find another 15 (yes 15) blogs to give it to.

I've copied this next bit from Judes blog:-

"This award has a few rules first of all you have to give it to a new blog that you have recently come across.Let them know they have an award ,then they must mention your blog when accepting the blog .Pass on to 15 other sites that you have just recently come across."

I'm gonna have to think on this and will add names as I go and let the lucky person concerned know in due course.

Challenge 48 at Sketch Saturday

Here is the second offering for tonight, I'm not entirely happy with it as it is so it may get another couple of flowers added to it at a later date, but then again it might grow on me as it is.

For this challenge I've turned it on its side coz I didn't want to do another square card but it has all the elements required so hopefully it will be okay. No stamping on this one, used a die cut Flower Fairy instead (feeling lazy).

Click on the link for further details.

Right, now to go enter these challenges.

Take care all and I hope you have a lovely day tomorrow.

Night night

With Love and Hugs

Evening everyone. These two photos are for challenge 18 over at the Craft Pad.
It's a "menu" this week of 1 pocket,1 ribbon and 2 brads.
I've used Little Ted with the heart as the tag that is in the pocket and Little Ted holding HUGS for the front of the pocket. I've also used 2 jumbo pastel brads from Dovecraft and stamped the hearts images on one and with love on the other with staz on black pad.
The paper is from the Smirk love & friendship range. And the ribbon on the tag and the flower embellishments are freebies from my various mags.
Well I'm off to enter this in the challenge so why not go and have a look for yourselves.
Take care

Lots to Do Challenge

Afternoon all. Just thought I'd upload these photos of a card that I have made for the Lots To Do challenge blog.
The challenge this week is black & white so if this is something that you fancy, why don't you toddle over and have a look.
Anyway on a different note.....I won last weeks challenge over at The Crafty Pad.
The lovely Debs has some new stamps out as well, the Belinda range. I have put my order in for Belinda Garden and as soon as I get it I'll be playing and putting whatever I make with it on here.
Okay I'm off now to think about this weeks challenge which is a "recipe" of 1 pocket, 2 brads & 1 ribbon and any other ingredients that you want......hmmm, do you think I can I squeeze some chocolate in there?
Have a good day peeps, well what is left of it anyway.

New card

I've been playing again, mainly to try and cheer myself up and partly because there are challenges to be done. I just woke up in a grump this morning and even the sun isn't working its normal magic. Anyway, back to playing and less of the grump.

Two challenges in one card this time. As you know, it's Saturday, so off I trundled to Sketch Saturday and made a quick copy of the sketch. While I was thinking on what papers to use etc, etc, off I went to One Stop Craft Challenge and guess what, a new challenge today as well. Their challenge this time is Decorative Cuts so I dug out my deckle edge scissors (they're my favourite don't ask me why) and my trusty corner punches and set to work.
Well this is what eventually came out and it may not look like it, but that is a brown ribbon to match the brown of the Fantasy papers from Dovecraft that I used.
Right link time, here's One stop craft challenge
and here's Sketch Saturdays Challenge
Well that's my offering for today, off to enter them in the challenges now and hope that something turns up to brighten my day.
Take care

D & D challenge and Cupcake challenge too - Baby Onion

Me again and another challenge card. Not entirely happy with it, I think it's missing something but don't know what. It may just be me though.

This card is for the Daisy & Dandelion challenge blog whose theme is "With Love" this week and the link is below if you want to have a look for yourselves.

Evening again everyone, just found out that Baby Onion also works for the cupcake challenges blog challenge,(if that makes any sense at all). The challenge for this was to only have one other layer apart from your base card. You can get the full details from the link below.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look, take care.

Little Black Dress ATC

I've had the day off today, so I thought I'd have a go at Charismacards latest challenge (link below).

This did prove to be a challenge as looking through all my stash, I found that I didn't have anything at all that resembled a dress,(curse not being a girly girl). So I had to think outside the box a little, I dug out my freebie designer templates from one of the mags I get and right at the back is a vest top and trousers. So, I did no more than draw round the vest top, then line up the trousers and draw so far down the outside of the legs, take the template out the way and draw a wavy line across the bottom.Ta-da, you have a dress. It came out just the right size for an ATC so that's my entry for the challenge this week.

Hope you like it, catch you later.

Challenge Card and Roundie holder

http://simonsaysstampschallenge.blogspot.com/2009/04/simon-says-recycle.html

Hi all just adjusting this posting as I've now entered my roundie holder into Simon says challenge for RECYCLING. I think it fits in as all the flowers on it are from a flower necklace that I, erm, acquired from one of my sister-in-laws many fancy dress parties.
Just in case you are wondering what a ROUNDIE is, it is basically a 4 inch round ATC that Andrea dreampt up over at the Trimcraft forum.

And as I seem to have erased it, the card is for the challenge over at the Crafty Pad.

The link is below for the challenge.

Pink & blue Marshmallow?

I said earlier that I was creating another mess...sorry card for yet another challenge, well here it is. It's for the torn challenge on the one stop craft challenge blog the link is down below.....somewhere. I have struggled a little with this one for two reasons.

1. I don't usually do the torn paper stuff but it was a good excuse to get the old mulberry paper out again,

and reason number

2. I have had the headache from hell all afternoon,it got right in my eyes and was sooooo painful, but I persevered for my art,(hahaha, well it's my mess more than my art!)

Anyway please do go and have a look and see if it's a challenge that tickles your tastebuds.

Catch you later

Challenge card for Sketch Saturday

Evening all, after a bit of a hectic day, I finally got around to doing a bit of card making and apart from the escaping gems incident, (I opened a packet of gems and they went everywhere, floor, craft area, dogs bed, I wouldn't be surprised if I find some more when I go to bed tonight!) I had a most enjoyable time playing. This particular card is for the new Sketch Saturday challenge, the link for which is below if you want to check it out for yourself.

Thanks for popping by and please do leave me a comment as I love to know what others think of my efforts.

Sketch challenge

Maxine, Maxine, Maxine. I had to do it.
After Maxine had told me about Sketch saturdays challenge and I had a look, I just had to have a go.
I figured that the space down the side could be used for the greeting eventually. I hadn't realised that computers could be soooo much fun.

I think I may be addicted to challenges now.... oh well the hardship. Here's the link to this particular challenge although another one is coming out tomorrow but what the hey

Morning all, hope you are ready for Easter, I'm not - but there's nothing unusual in that.
My lovely friend from Trimcraft, Maxine, persuaded me I should enter the challenge on the Creative Inspirations blog (I'll put the link on in a mo). So I've had a go, I'm not entirely happy with it as it seems too simple.
I've used my fab blog candy on this card (thanks Olga) as I don't really have much that is Easter themed at the moment in my stash, something I will have to remedy ready for next year.
Anyway enough babbling from me, here is the said link to the challenge
The challenge is open until the 19th April so please do go have a look and enter if you so feel the need.
Thanks for looking and have a lovely Easter.
Sam x
Just to update you all I've also entered it into the Simon Says challenge
Please do go over and have a look and enter if it so takes your fancy, it's open til the 15th April

Thursday, 9 April 2009

Afternoon all, I've made this card with the challenge on Charisma Cards in mind. Only problem is, I have no idea how to use Mr Linksy. I'm sure it's simple enough, it looks very simple, even to me, but I don't really know how to link it just to this photo and not my entire blog. So it may have to just stay here and look pretty,I've had fun making it and that's always the best bit.

Oh well, take care everybody

What a lovely day

I've had a lovely day today. I went to the Sincerely Yours craft event in Thetford with my friend Jay (purplehat in Trimmieland). Unfortunately I didn't have enough money as it's a little tight at the mo with hubby out of work but fingers crossed he'll have a job by August when there's another one, goody, goody.
Hope you've all had a lovely day.

Smirk and Forever Friends ATCs

I finally broke into my Smirk clear stamps that I've had for the last month and a half as my mojo seemed to be on holiday,(hopefully somewhere nice)and the Forever Friends stamps that I bought at the same time.

I figured it was about time I used them as I can't really buy anything else until my hubby gets a job and as we bought these stamps just before he was laid off ,I thought I really ought to get some use out of them.

Anyway I know a couple of my buddies from the Trimcraft site are having a tough time lately and as soon as I looked at my Smirk stamps, they just cried out their names,so here are the outcomes of the shouting.

I also had a little play as I said with a Forever Friends stamp with I watercoloured,I'm still new to this watercolouring malarky so I'm quite pleased with it. I'd love to know what you think.

Thanks for looking

Take care

Experimenting

It's not something I normally do a lot of, dabbling maybe but I don't normally experiment with tried and tested formulas but one of my buddies sent me a PM earlier and asked how I had put the glitter into my candles.I was a little confused at this but after looking back on my photo I thought that maybe it was the stray embossing powder. But it also got me thinking, could I put glitter on my candles?.............the answer is YES.After colouring my image in I got my trusty Quickie glue pen and dabbed it where I wanted the glitter to be and then proceded with the usual process involved.I don't think it's come out too badly for an experiment but would love to know what you think.
How to......Decorate candles
Firstly you need white tissue paper and greaseproof paper and a candle.
Take a stamp from your collection for first attempts the simpler the better and stamp onto your tissue paper. You can emboss your image if you so choose or you can use Stazon if you are just going to colour it as is.
Once you've stamped and coloured your image cut your image out as close to the lines as possible.
Then you need to place your image where you would like it on your candle and carefully wrap a strip of greaseproof paper around your candle with enough to go all the way round so that you can hold it tightly in your other hand,it also needs to be wide enough to cover your entire image from top to bottom.
Next you need your heat gun and lightly wave this over your greaseproof paper covered image. It should start to change colour slightly, this is the wax melting and also adhering your image to the candle.
Once the entire image has changed colour carefully remove the greaseproof.Your candle is noww decorated.
Hope this helps those who have asked, tatty bye ......... again!!!
Ooooh I just found some great surprise blog candy while bloghopping(is that what it's called,I ain't got the foggiest) so go have a look and join in.
Here's the link for you

My roundies

Afternoon all, hope you are well.

Just thought I'd put my roundies on here that are going into the hosted swop by Andrea(saphira) on the Trimcraft site.

I haven't uploaded them onto my gallery there yet as I'd like it to be a surprise for whoever gets them.

The theme for this month was Waves/Water so I did no more and found a couple of piccies that are on the computer, printed them off a couple of times and decoupaged them(just so you know as I don't think it shows in the photos).
Thanks for looking and if anyone is interested,we are aiming for World Domination on the Roundies front,we laugh in the face of ATCs(well we don't really as we all quite like making those too).
Okay enough of my babbling for today....oh and when I next upload a candle project I'll put some basic instructions with it as I've been asked ever so nicely.
Cheers Sam x
