The Crafty Pad GDT

Ah good morning all - well it would be if I wasn't pre-posting this post this morning so good afternoon - shall we begin? I'm in a really silly mood today which is good as I've been out of sorts for the last few days - I hate being a grumpy bear as I never want to craft when I feel like that even though it'd make me happy!!! Weird or what! You can agree with me - I don't mind ... honest!
Anyway onto the serious business of the day - I'm GDT over at The Crafty Pad YAYYYYY!!! Seems like ages ago since I worked with this talented bunch of girls and I absolutely adored the digi stamp I got to play with. They are called Eggward and Roshell and of course I coloured with my copics but instead of blending I thought I'd just add white highlights with my pen (neither of which really wanted to play - grrrrr!) but I am quite pleased with the result overall. It is based on a sketch which I really enjoyed using - I love sketches - takes the hard work out of thinking where to put things! (Yes peeps, I do occasionally think!)

(Hmmm just noticed the flowers don't actually look like I've
coloured them - they're very pale pink, just so you know)

Hope you like them and don't forget you can buy rubber and digi from Debbie although I'm not sure if all are available in both formats, (I do still love my rubber - something about getting messy I think!)
Anyway I hope you'll join me this week as I'd love to see what you guys make.
Take care all
Sam x

Just a quick reminder.....

that the challenge at Digital-Ink Co is still going for another week. Please do join in with our multicoloured challenge this week as I love going round and seeing what fab ideas you guys come up with and wishing I'd thought of it.

Award time

Have I ever been glad that I've left my awards like forever. I've got three awards from three lovely blogging buddies but there is a God that likes me - they are all the same so BIG YAY!!!! I only have to do this stuff once.

Firstly I'd like to thank Mandy,Lyn AKA Spyder and Tammy for this lovely award as it has a piccy of some of my favourite food on it.....mmmmmmm cupcakes...................

Now onto the difficult bit, 10 things that make me happy....can I just put crafting, crafting, crafting.....no okay then bu you can guarantee it's going to be in there.

1. Crafting
2. Shopping for crafting goodies
3. Watching craft programs (when I have the money that is)
4. My blogging buddies
5. My husband (and not just like that !! but it helps hehehee)
6. My kids (when they're asleep heheheehe I'm rotten aint I)
7. My furry kids
8. Losing weight
9. Not having any housework to do
10. and lastly a suggestion from my hubby as I was struggling for the last one Coffee

Now for the really difficult bit - giving it out to some of you lovely bloggers
Leah
Janette
Stitchy
Olga
Maxine
Georgia
Dazie
Sue
Andrea
Sarabeth

Some of these are blogs that I don't visit as often as I should, some are new to me, but all of them are well worth a look as there is some lovely stuff on all of them.
okay I'm off to let these lovely ladies know that they have an award from me now.
Take care and have a lovely evening.

Whoo hoo I finally got another card done!

I've been at this all day on and off. What with housework, chatting to my buddies and getting some sponsor details sorted for our new challenge blog One Stitch at a Time OSAAT for short, oh and taking my daughter to and from school and the dog for a walk and cooking dinner - how many more distractions could I have got in there.
Anyway this card is primarily for the challenge at Sew Many Challenges which is purple, white and a splash of black and I've used Tayla with tie blanket. I've also based it on the sketch at Rosie Dees and finally it's also going in for the Buttons, Bows, Lace and Ribbon challenge at Incy Wincy Designs.
Well without further ado here is the card that has managed to take me all day!!!

Sam x

WOYWW take 2

Well I'm back to do battle again with our Susie Sugar and I think I win hands down again. If you look closely you'll see my card from my last post.
Oh well here goes nothing.

As you can see I've done a series of photos going round to where my lappy is and there's more odds and sods in that little set of drawers and my CDs are on top of that - I need more......and to rob a bank!!!
Why don't you join in the fun at Stamping Ground and show us your mess - or tidiness (I have heard there are some tidy crafters out there you know - I bet they like housework too - only joking ladies heheheehe).
Take care til later

MAWTT challenge card

Morning all. I had this card finished last night, took the photos at about 6 am this morning and now at 10 am I'm just getting around to posting it. Well the dog does need his walk first thing or he constantly bugs me until I do take him and he so lonely at the moment bless him. Our female Staffordshire bull terrier is just coming into season (yay :( not ) so my hubby is taking her with him every day to work out of the way so he's a little lost without her at the minute. Anyway enough of this babble and onto my card.
I've used the lovely "Miss Weeble" image from Stitchy Stamps and printed some backing papers off from the Joanna Sheen "Tales of the Orient" double CD. I've glittered around the shapes on the parasol and her flowers and the bows in her hair and I've also used a glittery embossing powder on the "Happy Birthday" sentiment.
I'm entering this into the challenge at MAWTT which is a sketch which I've turned on it's side and also as a little theme they have requested "Something Digi" so my papers and Stitchys image covers that.
Oh it's of course coloured with my trusty copics - what else heheehehe.

Hope you like it.

Upcoming Challenge at Digital-Ink Co

Just a quick post to let you all know about our upcoming challenge at Digital-Ink co. Don't forget to leave some love on our new DT members blogs - you can find the list in the side bar and follow both our challenge blog and store blog to keep up with all the new goings on.
Love n hugs

Sam x

Welcome back.....

to our regular challenges at Digital-Ink Co. Okay then first things first, the challenge brief -
"Pets and Babies Birthday .... create a card, tag, layout or item with either a pet or baby birthday theme containing these colours - red blue yellow green and one neutral colour"

Well I didn't have to follow the brief to the letter as I was making a "thing" to show off one of the stamps that is being given away as a prize - the problem was I had these colours in my head and I could not get rid of them for the life of me. So needless to say I'm not pleased with the outcome but I will leave it up to you to decide.

I've used "Dragonfly Flower" by Sue from Beary Dust Stamps which you can buy here at the Digital-Ink Co Store.

Okay then, I'm looking forward to seeing all of your wonderful creations and be sure to check out our other talented DTs work.
Take care all

Oh WOW!!!!

I just got the most awesome surprise through the post just now. I just got this tin of chipboards from Liz as part of the scheme at Pay It Forward Crafting Style. This little surprise has put the biggest smile on my face this morning, so thanks Liz for making my day and to Joanne for a fab little scheme.

WOYWW - oh dear!!!

What else can I say...I had just seen Susie Sugars post about WOYDW and I thought I'd join in this week as a bit of moral support as I'm constantly in a mess and burying my notebook - which you can see on my cutting mat as I unburied it this morning so I could write down a couple of challenges.
Well I'll leave it up to you and before you ask....no I don't know how I manage like it either, I just push things to the side and pile it up until it goes everywhere (much like now so I think a bit of a tidy up is coming soon).

The cat doesn't want to stay there too long or she might be stuck to a card heheehe. The sideboard is full up of stuff as well and there's more stuff behind me and in the spare bedroom. You never know it might be tidier for next weeks WOYWW - yeah and pigs fly!!!
Take care and keep tidy heheheehe
Sam x

For all you neat freeks out there, is this better for you....whether I can find anything now is another matter. At least I can find all my scissors and knives though lol :)

Last one for today

And I'm going to make this really quick as I've still to make sandwiches for hubby and my daughter yet! Anyway I've got my last coffee for the night so I'm good for a few while I listen to the footie. Well my hubby came home and said the famous words, "I need a birthday card for tomorrow." So guess who had to make a rather quick card tonight in between and after dinner, yep that's right - me ...... such a hard life being told I have to make a card.
Well I thought I may as well make it count so I got the sketch right for Friday Sketchers this time and the stamp is another one from Stamping Dragon Designs.

Oh just remembered, it also goes in for the challenge at Lots to Do which has a challenge of Travel/Transport this week.

Hope you like it.
Sam x

Introducing....

Penny as Rupert the dragons love interest. You can get this stamp from Dragons Lair Designs online store. Don't forget to check out her blog here and say hello. I'm also entering it into this weeks sketch challenge at Mojo Monday.
I do hope that these two hit it off as I think they are such a cute couple. Let me know what you think.

Okay off to enter this in the challenge at Mojo Monday, have dinner and then make a quick card for my hubbys work mates birthday...which happens to be tomorrow. If he dares say I'm ignoring him tonight I may just throttle him hehehehee.
Take care.
Sam x

TGIW at Digital-Ink Co

Tomorrow is TGIW (Thanks God It's Wednesday) at Digital-Ink Co. That means all new stamps created by the talented crew over there in this last week go on sale. If you sign up for the newsletter you can get a free digi EVERY week - yes you heard me right every week you get a free stamp. You'd be mad to miss out, so why don't you mosey on over and tell them I sent you and get a free digi every week!!!
Also our new challenge goes live over at the challenge blog HERE on the 25th so don't forget to pop over and join in with us and welcome our new DT members.
Take care

Oooooo, ribbon candy at OSAAT

Right my mate Liz has got some ribbon candy for our new challenge blog One Stitch at a Time (click on the link to take you straight to the post) but there is a catch. There's 2 bundles there and you need to guess how much ribbon is in each bundle, leave us your answers in a comment AND follow the blog - nothing like a bit of bribery eh!? Well, bribing my kids with sweets and food works, so why shouldn't some stash candy work on you lovely crafters - it'd work on me that's for sure!
Here's a couple of small piccies to wet your appetite, when you've had a think about it, click on the link and leave us your guesses - oh and don't forget to follow.

I'm going to have a big old rumage as well as I'm very nearly at 100 followers, so not only will there be candy from me on OSAAT for our first overall winner but there will be candy on here too to celebrate getting to 100 followers.

Blimey - I smashed my previous record!!!

Heheheheee sorry just laughing at myself. I've managed to make one card fit for 8 different challenges although I think I might be pushing my luck with 2 of them but nevermind eh. Anyway here's my list and what the challenge is...
Allsorts challenge blog Brown/Pink colour combo
Digital Tuesday Emboss it
Incy Wincy Colour me wonderful
One Stop craft challenge Fancy edges or corners
Paperplay Furry Friends
Sew many challenges Open
The Crafty Pad Animals
Stamp Something Blue/White colour combo
It was 9 until I realised I'd missed a strip of paper of my card for the sketch at Friday Sketchers.
Can you guess which 2 I think I'm pushing my luck with....yep you got it the 2 colour combo challenges, but in fairness it doesn't say on either of them that you can't use other colours as well heheheehe. I'm so cheeky sometimes. Anyway without further ado here is my controversial card.

The image is "Pair of Bunnies" by Beary Dust stamps which can purchase from Digital-Ink Co's store HERE, and it has of course been coloured with my trusty copics. I've used an embossing pen to go around the outside of the image as it's a digi stamp so I could emboss it - made colouring it so much easier too.
Have a lovely day what's left of it.

OMG What have I done?!! hahahahahaha

Oh well it's done now, so I might as well tell you guys about it. Stitch and myself have gone one step further and opened our own challenge blog. We have a fab DT on board and you can check them all out via the little blog roll thingy in my sidebar.
Our first challenge is going to be on Sunday 14th February - St Valentines day and I'll give you all the deets nearer the time. I hope to have all our bios up later today so you can familiarise yourself with us.
I must be mad - that's all I've got to say....apart form I hope you'll join in the fun with us and our little gang of merry women when we go live.
Take care

Todays offering

Things keep getting in the way of my crafting at the moment, I started this card yesterday and it was going to be based on another sketch but that particular challenge ended last night so I had  to do something else based on what I already had done, which was my image mounted on the circle of silver mirri board.
Right then it's list time I think so here goes
Charisma Cardz Anything New
Cupcake Craft Going Girly
Cute Card Thursday Pink/Grey
Flutter by Wednesdays Open
Stampin for the Weekend Sketch
So with out further ado here is my little card with my new stamp from Donna of Lil Diva Stamps which you can get from Digital-Ink Cos store and the sentiment is sort of new too as it's the first time I've opened the pack hehehe what am I like!!!

Hope you like her. Thanks for stopping by

Hey, hey it's number three!!!

Just got this one photographed and edited so I thought I'd plop it on for you to see. Some of you may know that the wonderfully talented Dustin Pike now has his own challenge blog http://doodledragonstudio.blogspot.com/ and it all kicked off with a little blog hop where at the end of it you could email him for a random image to use in this weeks challenge.
I, of course took advantage of this lovely offer and thought the best way to repay him was to at least have a play with this cute image (I love it sooooo much thanks Dustin) and enter the challenge. I have of course coloured it with my copics and I've used the sketch from Mojo Monday week 121.
Without further ado here is my last offering for the day. Hope you all like it.

Sam x

Oh yeah...I'm back!!!!

I've had a bit of trouble getting motivated lately on the crafting front but I think I'm over that now as here is number 2 for today and number 3 is nearly done as well.
Okay well this is for the challenge over at Lexi's Creations which is "one for the boys with blue and green". I've used a digi stamp from my mate Stitchy called "Army Dude" and I think he's LUVERLY (for a frog) so not too disimilar to our boys in uniform (and I don't mean any disrespect to our girls with that comment - but fellas in uniform....Y.U.M.M.Y!!!!).

Anyway I had to throw a pair of hubbys combats out as they had ripped beyond repair so I did no more and swiped the buttons of off them and cut myself a few bits of decent material and a label - I can't read the writting on it now though, but what the heck...when do fellas actually look at their cards!!!
I hope you like this as I'm quite pleased with how it's turned out.
Sam x

Another quicky

I'm getting good at these quick projects you know. This time it's a little 4x4 using Monty the Moose from Stamping Dragon Designs - her shop is HERE - and I'm entering this into the challenges at Kaboodle Doodles Anything but a card and a challenge on SNR for Sweet n Sassys Motivate Me Monday, Let it Snow challenge ;- http://snrcardiverse.ning.com/group/sweetnsassystamps/forum/topics/111-motivate-me-monday-mmm1

Okay then I'm off to enter this and then play some more. Take care all...

Tuesday, 12 January 2010

Hi all - I'm back!

Ugh the trouble I've had getting any time to make anything these last couple of days....I blame the internet you know (and housework)...all I do is keep yapping and I'm not one of these women that can multitask. It takes all my concentration to make my fingers go on the right keys so there's no chance of me crafting at the same time!!! Anyway I finally ignored my buddies (who hopefully won't mind) long enough to get this quicky card knocked out.
It's made use of yet another old Christmas card so recycling is covered and it's made from basically mirri board and I've used my Metal Magic (at last - I've had it about a year!! so I'm counting this as my new item and I can see me using it loads more now) for the PEACE and Love debossed words so there is the Precious metals. I've based it on a sketch and as it's a Christmas card it's Wintry.
Okay for the challenges this card covers, only 4 this time hehehe
Bah!HumbugRecycling
Lots to DoWinter Wonderland
Paperplay ChallengesPrecious Metals
Sketch and StashThe Sketch

Going to play a while while I'm watching Ice Road Truckers now as I need to catch up on DT stuff - how dare housework get in the way. I'll be back tomorrow with hopefully some DT makes. Until then take care.

Allsorts and the Crafty Pad challenges

Right, a really quick one for tonight. This card is for the challenges over at The Crafty Pad with "Buttons" and Allsorts challenge blog with a sketch.

I've used "Shelley Sheep and Twitter" available from The Crafty Pad,added a little doodling and faux stitching, a sentiment and a few buttons. I've put a little bit of Liquid applique to Shelley for her fluffyness.
Well that's it from me tonight - I hope to be back tomorrow but it is Sunday and that does mean roast day, so well see how it goes.
Take care

New Record!!!

For the amount of challenges with one card......well it is for me anyway. Right here goes the list
ABC challenge ;- Layers
Cute Card Thursday ;- New
Flutterby Wednesday ;- New
Mojo Monday ;- Sketch
Papertake Weekly ;- New

I've used a new stamp that I got as part of a set free from Cardmaking and papercraft magazine. He's such a cute little dog and it is ages since I actually dusted my proper stamps off. I've coloured him with watercolour pencils and the little border around him was coloured with my Whispers pens. I've gone around the outside of the scalloped circle with my chalk cats eyes ink pads. Of course there is layers of paper and then the actual image is lifted up on foam pads, so there's another layer there. I've also added a butterfly in the corner to fit in with Flutterby.

Okay well I think that's it basically. Love to know what you think so please leave me some love.
Take care
Sam x

Finally.....

I managed to get some time to make some cards for challenges. The challenge at Charisma Cardz this week  is a colour combo of PINK, BROWN, CREAM and TOFFEE.

The papers are all from a CD I have got laying around here from a magazine and I've gone round the edges of the papers with a brown Whispers pen. I've mounted the I LOVE U X onto some gold textured mirri board and added some layered flowers (thanks Leah L'Orange) which are all either brown, pink or cream. The background of the I LOVE U X is a toffee colour and I've just added a little Stickles pink glitter to the letters.
Thanks for looking.

Snow pig

I just got to share this with you guys. This is what my little girl made today as school was shut.

Keep warm peeps
Sam x

Some of you may not like this but....

it's a Christmas card ☺!! In my defence it's for the challenge over at Fabs Big Christmas Cards challenge.  The challenge at Fabs is:-
"The theme is Tall Card or/and Frosty colours: ice blues, lilacs and whites....your call ! Anything that makes you go BRRRRRR !"

Well, I had to join in as I was sooooo badly organised last year, so this one will go into a box along with the others that I'll make as part of this challenge and ABCs christmas challenge, Bah! Humbug, and Susie and Vickis Christmas club challenges too. I will have enough cards this year without a last minute rush.
Anyway about this card, it was a really quick one to make. The card blank was one from my Christmas pressie from my sister-in-law,to which I added some text backing paper from one of the CDs I have laying around here. The snowflakes are also from the box of stuff from SIL. The other bits are cannabalised Christmas cards that we recieved last year although the "seasons greetings" has been mounted onto a scrap of silver mirri board to give it a little ... you know what I mean. Anyway that's my card for this challenge and I hope you don't all leave me in droves now.
Take care everyone

Candy up for grabs just for saying "NO!"

Okay I'm going to cheat just a bit and copy and paste everything Samantha said over at ABC Christmas challenge blog or I will miss something important out - so listen up and here goes

"Hi ya everyone!

WOW some great cards so far for our first challenge!
I'm so pleased you all seem to be really happy about this new Challenge blog
As I have not run a Challenge blog before so thank also for your support too!
I have been commenting this morning and well its taken quite sometime!
I would like to say a HUGE BIG thank you to all of you that read the rules on the sidebar and have already turned off your Word Verification.
Its so much easier and really saves our time.
I am going to give away some candy as a thank you to those of you that have turned off the word verification and also to those of you that do!

So what do you have to do?

To be in with a chance of winning the TURN IT OFF candy

***********
1. Post a message on your blog telling everyone about my candy our blog and what the candy is for on your blog.

2. Post the say no banner on the sidebar of your blog

3. If you haven't already, turn your Word Verification off pretty please!

(If you're not sure how to do this, please see the instructions in our sidebar)
4. Join in with Challenge A for Angels

To make it even more exciting...and give you even greater incentive to 'Turn it off!'...if we manage to get 50 entrants...Helen will add a second candy package!

Owner approval a much nicer way of screening your comments
Help us make a difference!
Thanks
Samantha :0)
This Candy will close midnight 13th January UK time"

I've highlighted a couple of bits just so they notice a little bit more. Even before I was on a DT I found it just a little annoying that I had to type in these silly letters each time as it does take a fair bit of extra time to do so.
If you are unsure of how to do this, click on their link at the top of this post (the one in RED HUGE letters) and there are some instructions on how to do this. I for one didn't know it was on to start with or even how I could turn it off, but I hope it has made your (my followers and peeps that leave me lovely comments) lives that little bit easier.
Take care all and good night

Cupcake challenge - Take Two!!

And here is my second one for this challenge - well I couldn't resist. This stamp is "Baby Giraffe" by Stamping Dragon Designs and again it's going into the "Baby" challenge at Cupcake challenges. This is also my latest DT piece for SDD so I hope she likes it. Again, I've used the baby bingo card by Lindsays Stamp Stuff (I hope I got that right again) to just give it a little something.

Right, that's me done for tonight. I hope to be back with a few more bits tomorrow.
Take care out there
Sam x

Cupcake challenges - Take One!!

Well it doesn't say anywhere that I can see, that I can't put two entries into the same challenge so here is my first offering for Cupcake Challenges "Baby" challenge. This image is an oldie from Stitchy Stamps called "Him First" and I love it so much I just had to use it again. Yet again, it is an easel card but it most probably is my last one for a while as I really must try out something different again.

Oh by the way the bingo card was a freebie download that I found online somewhere... My Grafico and it's by Lindsays Stamp Stuff. Nearly forgot about that you know hehehe - I am terrible ain't I?!
Sam x

Digital tuesday Valentines challenge

Finally a challenge for a card I made the other day, I was hoping something would turn up in the next few days after I had made it and it has. I made this card using the free digi that The Digi Kitty had just at the end of the year. Unfortunately I made this too late for her challenge that she put it up for but it's not being wasted - oh no....it's now being entered into this weeks challenge at Digital Tuesday which is, if you haven't gathered by the title of this post is of course "Valentines".

I hope you like this little card and you will go and visit both of these blogs as they are both fab.
Sam x

Julies birthday card

This one is for my sister-in-law Julie and I'm also going to enter it into the challenge at Charisma Cardz which is celebrations and it's also my second entry to the same challenge. The stamp is from Stitchy Stamps and is called "Lace it Up".

I should be back later as I've got at least another 4 cards to upload for challenges but unfortunately I have to cook dinner sometime today so I may be some time.
Catch you all later..in the meantime - take care and be careful in this snow that we've got again!

Just the one today

Just one post for you all today. I have got my sister-in-laws card nearly done but it needs something else but not sure what yet.
Again I have one card for three challenge blogs, all on the same theme of "Thank you". There most probably is more out there but I've just got this diary thing going on because my main problem last year was that I'd forget when challenges were so I'd forget to look and therefore enter.
Okay - onwards and enough babbling from me about nothing....the challenges I'm entering this card into is:-
Magical Crafts Fortnightly challenge
Bee Crafty
C.R.A.F.T. challenge blogspot

Hope you like it and no doubt I'll be back with some more tomorrow.
Take care peeps
Sam x

Saturday, 2 January 2010

Right one last thing for today.

Well there is not a lot on the old goggle box tonight so I've been playing. I've actually made two cards but I want to have a look around for any "Love" themed challenges so I'm keeping that one back for a little while.

This card is on the theme of  "New" or "New Beginnings" and I've chosen "New Home". I've used a digi stamp from The Digi Kitty and I'm entering this card into Stampin for the weekend, PaperPlay Challenges and Fussy and Fancy Friday.
Phew that's a record for me you know - 3 challenges with one card. Right I really am done for today now. Catch you all tomorrow.
Sam x

Cute Card Thursday sketch challenge

and my first proper DT project for Stamping Dragon Designs. I've used "Rupert in Window" as my image and he has been coloured with copics. I've then done a bit of paper piecing for the curtains and put some mottled paper behind as the wallpaper. I've then cut out the window frame from another print out and layered it over the top with the help of some sticky pads. I made my own sentiment on the computer, matted that onto some silver mirri card and stuck that on with some more sticky pads and added some little roses.
Okay then here is the sketch....

and here is my take on it.

Whoo hoo well that's 4 of 4 challenges that I wanted to do. Need to find some more now hahahaaha.
Oh well 'til tomorrow I should think.....Good night from me everyone!
Sam x
Oooops I just realised I forgot to put the link on to Cute Card Thursday so click on their name to take you straight there. I'll forget my head one of these days heheehehe

Here's the one that was drying out!

This is what I finally come up with for this months challenge over at Stamping Dragon Designs. I admit I would never have put this combination of colours together...EVER, but I think it's turned out okay. So why don't you go over and claim your free challenge pack and let rip - you know you want to!
Sam x

Celebrations challenge at Charisma

Afternoon all, just finished this card which is for my Mother-in-laws birthday on Monday and as it is a celebration it's also going into the challenge at Charisma Cardz.

The image I've used is Vintage Sewing Machine by M & M Designz and the background paper is from the free pack from Stamping Dragon Designs.
I chose the sewing machine image as my MIL is brilliant with a sewing machine so I'm hoping she's going to like it.
Should have another card for you later but I'm still waiting for it to dry...well a certain element anyway.
Take care
Sam x
